The Storm
Written by: James Krolik
Dedicated to Patricia
A beacon of light,
out on the stormy sea.
A bolt within thunder,
comes to challenge me.
Striking my ship,
my heart hits the bay.
My hope for survival,
riddled with dismay.
I pray for to the heavens,
to send me a guide,
for within my heart,
I know she's by my side.
My boat starts to capsize,
the ocean turns and turns.
My desire to live on,
makes my heart burn.
Into the sea,
I slowly descent.
In my heart,
I know it's the end.
A beacon of light,
out on the stormy sea.
Someone above
is watching me.
I pray to the heavens,
to gather my might.
I don't want to die
in this sea tonight.
I abandon my ship
and swim for the shore.
Only minutes pass,
but it feels like more.
I arise on the beach
and gaze at the sky.
How did I get here?
How did I survive?
When all hope was lost,
I know I'm not alone.
My angel above,
guided me home.
