Independence
Written by: James Krolik
On that cold winter night,
you led the troops through the blizzard of hell.
Over the Delaware River,
confronting your destiny,
you led your men to fight for your freedom.
The blizzard raged on, further freezing you and your men.
Dragging on, you persisted, bringing the hopes of
early Americans with you;
they knew,
they knew you would not let them down.
With the support of pre-America,
you continued on, into battle,
to ultimately crush your foe.
Red skin, red coats, red blood.
War reigned, taking with it Britain's rule.
If not for that one night, America would
probably not exist.
General, Mr. President, George, we salute you.
We salute you for all you have done
and creating the home in which we live.
Thank you for our indepencence.
