Winter Love

Leaves are falling from the trees,
the wind is blowing its frigid freeze.
Snow is forming on the plains,
icicles are taking their shape.
In the rush of the day,
I realise that I’m running behind.
I don’t want to be late,
I need to hurry to get there on time.
I quickly arrive,
and we begin to play in the snow.
We fight and we wrestle,
until I’m buried beneath the snow.
You throw a snowball
and it hits me on my side.
But while you giggle,
I catch you by surprise.
We tickle and we whistle,
and we play around all day.
Nothing in this world could
ruin our perfect day.
We go in the house,
and warm up by the fire.
The water drips down,
as you look at me and smile.
We hold each other close,
and hold each other tight,
because a new day will come
for us to have a snow fight.
We fall asleep together
holding snug just like a glove.
Tomorrow’s going to come and
so will more winter love.
